Propagate

IN THIS ARTICLE:

Propagate coding and redactions from source documents to their duplicate documents.

Propagation options

Review any conflict messages in the Propagation Issues grid after you Analyze the ReviewSmart corpus. See the Handling conflicts article for the different propagation options to resolve these conflicts.

Propagate coding only

Coding choices from source documents that have the REVS_ReviewComplete field checked will propagate to their duplicate documents.
If this option is selected, redactions will not be propagated to duplicates.

Propagate coding and redactions

Coding choices and redactions from source documents that have the REVS_ReviewComplete field checked will propagate to their duplicate documents.
If a duplicate document is out of sync because a redaction was made to the source document, select this option to put the Duplicate in sync during propagation.

Unlock Duplicates

By default this option is unchecked. Duplicates in the lock folder will remain there after propagation.
If this option is checked, Duplicates will be moved to a new location based on their RelFolderPath value after propagation.

Overwrite conflicting Duplicates

By default this option is unchecked. Checking this option will allow coding and redactions to be propagated to duplicates with issues and overwrite their existing coding or redactions, thus forcing them to be in sync with their source documents that have the REVS_ReviewComplete field checked.

Warning

If Overwrite conflicting Duplicates is checked, clicking Run will eliminate all coding done separately on the Duplicates with no warning and no recovery.

Review Complete

The REVS_ReviewComplete field must be checked on the Source document for Duplicates to receive propagation.

Run propagation

With your options selected (See Propagation options), click Run.
As a first step in Propagation, Analyze is run to ensure propagation happens to the correct documents, in the correct order.

You will see the status of your request in the table below.

Status Error

If your job encounters an error, please submit a ticket to our support team.

Click  View History to see a detailed list of previous submissions with an option to export to Excel.

Review results

Once propagation is complete, Analyze is automatically run to update report statistics and include any new issues in the Propagation Issues grid.

Family coding inconsistencies are displayed in Relativity in the REVS_FamilyCheck column (if enabled).

Custodians for all Sources and Duplicates in each MD5 hash group are displayed in Relativity in the REVS_CustodiansAll column (if enabled). See Setup.
